About the Time Zone Converter & Meeting Planner
Working across time zones means constantly asking “what time is it there?” This tool answers it for several cities at once. Add the places your team, clients or family live, and each row shows the local time, date, UTC offset and how far ahead or behind it is from your home city.
The meeting planner lines up a 24-hour strip for every city, shaded by working hours, so you can see at a glance which hours overlap. Click any hour to see that moment everywhere, or pick a date to plan ahead — daylight-saving changes are applied for that exact day.
Why time zone maths goes wrong
Offsets are not fixed. New York is five hours behind UTC in winter and four in summer, and countries switch to daylight saving on different dates, so the gap between two cities can change for a few weeks each spring and autumn. Some zones are offset by half or three-quarters of an hour, such as India (UTC+5:30) and Nepal (UTC+5:45). This converter uses your browser’s built-in time zone database, so these rules are applied for whichever date you choose.
Scheduling across many zones
When no hour fits everyone’s day, the planner shows the hours where the most people are working. A common approach is to rotate inconvenient slots between regions, or to keep meetings short and record them for whoever is asleep.
How to use it
- 1Add the cities or time zones you need; the first one is your home zone.
- 2Read the current time everywhere, or pick a date and time to plan ahead.
- 3Scan the hour strips for green slots where everyone is working.
- 4Click a slot to select it, then copy the times into your invite.
Frequently asked questions
Does this account for daylight saving time?
Yes. It uses the time zone rules built into your browser, so the offset for each city is correct for the date you are viewing, including the weeks when only one country has changed its clocks.
What is the difference between UTC and GMT?
For scheduling they show the same time. GMT is a time zone used by the UK in winter; UTC is the precise time standard other zones are defined from, and it never changes for daylight saving.
Why is my city not listed?
Time zones are named after one major city per region. Search for a nearby big city in the same country, or type the zone name, such as America/Toronto.
How do I change my home time zone?
Click the house icon next to any city to move it to the top. Hour strips and differences are measured from the home city.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Your list of cities and settings stay in your browser.
