Guide

About the Image Editor

Drop in one picture or a hundred. Crop and turn each one as it needs, set the size and the format once for all of them, and download them together. The preview shows the finished picture and its file size, so there are no surprises.

Everything happens in your browser: the pictures never leave your device, which matters for ID scans, documents and family photos. Saving them again also strips hidden details such as the GPS location in phone photos.

Resizing to an exact size

When a site asks for an exact size, such as 1080 × 1080 for an Instagram post, choose Exact width and height. Fit inside keeps the whole picture and fills the rest with a colour; Fill covers the whole size and cuts off what does not fit; Stretch squeezes it, which is rarely what you want. For more control over what is cut off, crop to the same shape first.

Which format should I choose?

JPG suits photos and works everywhere. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, for screenshots, logos and graphics. WebP is smaller than both and works in every current browser. AVIF is smaller still, but slower to save and not accepted everywhere yet. To make files as small as possible, use the Image Compressor.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop in your images, or paste them.
  2. 2Crop and turn each one as needed — or set one and use it for all.
  3. 3Choose how to resize them and the format to save in.
  4. 4Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are opened, edited and saved in your browser. Only if you choose AVIF in a browser that cannot write it does the AVIF encoder itself download, once; your pictures still stay on your device.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like: the size and format apply to all of them, and you can crop and turn each one, or use one picture’s crop for all. They download together as a ZIP.

Will resizing make my photo blurry?

Making a picture smaller keeps it sharp; it is scaled down in steps for a clean result. Making it bigger cannot add detail, so smaller images are only enlarged if you tick the box.

How do I convert PNG to JPG, or WebP to JPG?

Choose JPG under Save as and download. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you pick.

Why is my phone photo sideways in other tools but not here?

Phones store which way up a photo is in a hidden tag. This editor reads it when it opens the picture, so photos come in upright, and the saved copy is upright everywhere.

Can I open HEIC photos from an iPhone?

Only in browsers that can show HEIC, such as Safari. Elsewhere, set the iPhone to save photos as “Most compatible” (JPG), or convert them on the phone first.
